Bastrop's New Ascension Seton Neighborhood Hospital

Ascension Seton Bastrop, which opened its state-of-the-art facility in Bastrop mid-December will have a ribbon-cutting and open house Thursday, Jan. 23 from 4-6 p.m.
After much anticipation, Bastrop’s Ascension Seton Neighborhood Hospital has opened its doors to a $30 million medical facility the city can now add to its growing list of achievements in the bio/life science and healthcare sector. Seton joins MD Anderson and other global companies that have opted to set roots amongst the lost pines. Bastrop and Bastrop County offer the highest number of individuals needing primary care physicians and dentists of the 11-county area. This is expected to increase over the next 5-10 years, which will create the demand to continue to brand Bastrop as a medical destination for this area.

The Holidays at the Down Home Ranch

(BASTROP) During this season of giving, people are presented with many opportunities to give back in a special way. Just down the road between Taylor and Elgin sits Down Home Ranch serving adults with varying intellectual and developmental disabilities.


The Ranch, located on 410 acres, depends upon volunteers' time and money to fulfill their mission of empowering the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by using a working farm and ranch model to facilitate the programming, providing paying jobs for the Ranchers and raising much needed funds by selling the products they raise, grow, create, and produce.

This time of year brings people to the ranch to select and purchase poinsettias, the top-selling product produced at Down Home Ranch.
