2020 BISD BOND POSTPONEMENT

The BISD Board of Trustees voted to postpone the school district's May 2nd board and bond elections to November 3, 2020 in the interest of public health and safety amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are grateful for all the work of the Citizens Advisory Task Force and those organizations that passed resolution in support of our bond such as the Bastrop County Democratic Party, the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, and the Bastrop PTA Council,” Kristi Lee, Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations, said. “We are confident that we will come back together and continue the good work of educating our community on the needs of the district and the details of this bond after we are on the other side of this public health crisis.”

BISD MEAL DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM

Kristi Lee, Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations, reported that Bastrop ISD began serving breakfast and lunch to all BISD students, all Bastrop Works students, and all other children in our community regardless of where they attend school. Since March 23rd, the district has distributed nearly 20,000 meals. On Monday, April 6, BISD added 13 additional sites for a total of 21. The 13 new sites are bus stops along five different routes throughout the county.
