It's Time For Your Home's Annual Check-Up

As summer begins to settle in and temperatures rise, it’s the perfect time to schedule your annual check up for your home. A check up for my home, you ask? Yes! The health of your home needs to be assessed annually to nip any potential issues in the bud as well as identifying problems before they become failures. Here are some things you can do to maintain your home and keep your systems running smoothly all year long.

Hummingbirds, Butterflies, & Bees, Oh My!

Contributed By: Jami Carroll

Native species, wildflowers, annuals, and herbs make welcome additions to any garden while providing healthy food  and habitats for our favorite pollinators.

Many homeowners look forward to the annual arrival of hummingbirds from mid-March to April. Returning from their South American holidays, Ruby-throated, Black-chinned, & Rufous hummingbirds seek the tender, Spring blooms of flowering plants, bushes, . ...

The Bastrop YMCA is Back!

We Are Back!!
And we have missed the community! The Bastrop YMCA reopened its doors on June 1, 2020. After a two and a half month furlough, we are excited to help folks connect again! Locations include our office at 1110 Main St., the cardio and workout gym at 1112 Main Street and the Bastrop State Park Pool.
During the closure time the Y offered hundreds of streaming and virtual classes. Yoga to circuit training, family hang time to social coffee club zoom programs were offered to the public to help keep people connected during the time of isolation. The Y also offered child care to essential workers. Our team also designed a plan intended to keep everybody safe when it was time to the Y. That plan starts with a quick temperature check before you enter the facility. Once inside we ask that everyone practice social distancing, use hand sanitizer, and disinfectant items after use. We do a deep clean every day before, during, and after hours. Equipment is sanitized before use and aft. ...
