North of Highway 183, a variety of residential neighborhoods spread out between Loop 1/Mopac and Interstate 35. Well-served by retail centers and easy access to the city’s major highways, these communities lie close to several of Austin’s major tech-sector employers such as Dell and IBM. There are diverse living options throughout the area, including modest apartment and condo buildings along the arterials, though many of the residential areas are classically Austin.
