Why you'd want to live in South Congress (SoCo)

South Congress is one of the major arterials in South Austin, and is also one of Austin’s “hippest” parts of town. For a long time, South Congress has been the epitome of Austin Weird. The neighborhood of South Congress is loosely defined as the homes on either side of South Congress Ave, between Riverside Drive and Ben White. Living anywhere in that area will give you easy access to the South Congress strip, which has the restaurants, boutiques, bars and music venues that make it a destination for people from all over town. You also have a straight shot to downtown on Congress, or easy access to Highway 290/71 for East/West travel. Homes are generally in the high 200s and low 300s, but this is an in-demand area, and houses sell quickly.
